Baytree Lodge

Baytree Lodge is a large modern house in Osmington, less than 1 mile from the sea and backing onto open countryside. A vaulted open space combines the kitchen and diner, which leads on to a second lounge, and the main lounge has a wood-burner. There is also a utility room, and the kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer.

It sleeps twelve across five bedrooms, every one with an en-suite shower room. The master is a king-size with an extra single bed and a walk-in wardrobe, two more king-size rooms, a triple single room and a twin make up the rest. Four of the five are upstairs, each with a TV. The other king-size sits above the games room, which is a separate building holding a pool table, table football and an arcade machine. A bathroom with a bath is also provided.

The heated swimming pool is down a flight of stairs with a stairgate at the top. It is closed from 8am to 9am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, except bank holidays, for essential maintenance. Maintenance contractors reach the pool through the garden, not through the house. The pool, games room and play area are unsupervised, so they are used at the guests' own risk. The play area has swings, a den, a climbing frame and a slide, and the enclosed garden overlooks fields, with a patio and a brick-built barbecue. Gardeners visit intermittently through the year.

Gated off-street parking takes five cars, and one well-behaved dog is accepted. A first net of logs for the wood-burner is provided between October and April, bed linen and towels are included, and a cot and highchair are available. The booking also carries a good-housekeeping bond. The house suits a large family party or two families who want a pool, a games room and a garden on site.
