Wimborne Minster Folk Festival returns to the market town from Friday 11 to Sunday 13 June 2027. The first full festival took place in June 1981, and it has grown into one of the major festivals of Celtic music and English song and dance in the UK.
The weekend runs from Friday evening to Sunday evening. Traditional music and dance sit at the centre, with Morris sides, Appalachian dance, live acts, choirs and Busk Stops. Outdoor events are mostly held on hardstanding. Around the town you will find trade and food stalls, a microbrewery for adults, children’s activity areas and a street market, and art exhibitions and sales at Allendale House. The festival is run by Wimborne Minster Folk Festival Ltd, a not-for-profit organisation staffed by volunteers.
