The Downwood

The Downwood is a detached house on the edge of Blandford Forum. The rear garden has a heated outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub, a barbecue, a tennis court and croquet and badminton areas. Guests also have access to Downwood Vineyard and 28 acres of woodland. There are steps in the garden, so take care.

Eight bedrooms sleep 16. Four are kings, all with TVs: one has a freestanding bath and an en-suite walk-in shower, and another an en-suite bath with a shower over it. Four are twins: one has an en-suite bath with a shower over it, and the other three have TVs. Two further bathrooms have a bath with a shower over it, and there is a first-floor cloakroom. A lockable door separates one king-size bedroom from the twin rooms.

Living space takes in two sitting rooms, one with a woodburning stove, a conservatory, an orangery, a kitchen/diner, a utility room and a games room with a Smart TV, a snooker table and table football. Appliances include an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a tumble dryer. Two Smart TVs, eight Freeview TVs and wifi are provided, and fuel, power, a starter for the stove, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Three well-behaved dogs are welcome, and there are three dog beds in the utility room. Children and dogs must be supervised at all times near the outdoor pool. Smoking is not allowed. The pub is 0.4 miles away and the nearest shop is 1.5 miles. It suits two or three families, or a group of friends, travelling together, and can be booked with ten other units at Downwood Holidays for up to 36 guests.
