Run Bournemouth turns the seafront into a two-day running weekend on Saturday 9 and Sunday 10 October 2027. The races range from a 1km children’s run to the 13.1-mile half marathon, so a family can have several people running over one weekend.
What happens
The Bournemouth Half Marathon starts at 11am on Sunday 10 October. The course follows the old full marathon route along the coast, passing both Boscombe Pier and Bournemouth Pier, and the finish area is at Bournemouth Pier Approach. The Supersonic 10K starts earlier, at 9am on the Sunday, on a flat, fast course that takes in the same two piers.
Saturday belongs to the shorter races. The Supernova 5K starts at 7pm, at dusk, on Bournemouth Prom and finishes near the Run Bournemouth Hub in the Lower Gardens, with an emphasis on light around the route. Earlier in the afternoon come the children’s races: the Junior 2K for ages 9 to 12 at 2:30pm and the Junior 1.5K for ages 6 to 8 at 2:45pm, both starting on Bournemouth Prom and finishing near the Hub, then the Kids’ Kilometre for ages 3 to 6 at 3:30pm, which takes in the pier. Children in the Kids’ Kilometre must run with an adult, who does not need an entry.
