Bohemian Beach Cottage

Bohemian Beach Cottage is a period house near Alum Chine in Bournemouth, with two double bedrooms for four guests. The living space is open plan, joining a Nordic Oak kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area with an electric fire. In the kitchen are an electric oven with induction hob, a Smeg fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine.

There is no TV, and that is deliberate: the owner wants guests to switch off, and suggests bringing a laptop. WiFi is installed. A single bathroom holds a bath with a shower over it, a basin and a WC. Central heating works alongside the electric fire, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

Off-road parking takes two cars. The shop is 0.9 miles away, and the pub and the beach are each 0.5 mile. Alum Chine is about a minute on foot, and the wooded path from there reaches the beach in around five minutes.

One well-behaved dog is welcome, and a second may be approved on request. Dogs must stay off the sofas and out of the upstairs. Smoking is not allowed, stag and hen parties are not accepted, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits two couples, or a family of four, who want a quiet week by the sea and may bring a dog.
