Churchill House

Churchill House is a detached former farmhouse on the Minterne Estate at Minterne Parva, near Cerne Abbas. It sleeps sixteen across eight bedrooms: two super-king-size rooms, a king-size, two doubles, a twin, a single and a family room with four single beds. The second-floor rooms sit in the eaves, so head height is restricted in places.

A shared unmade road leads to the private gates. The dining room has an open fire and seats sixteen, and the dual-aspect sitting room has a second open fire, a Smart TV and seating for sixteen; logs and firelighters are provided. The kitchen has a range-style cooker with electric ovens, a microwave, two dishwashers and a coffee machine, with a foldaway table for four. The utility room has a washing machine, a tumble dryer and a shower. A travel cot and highchair can be requested.

Out the back, the lawn has a private hot tub (bring your own hot tub towels), a patio with furniture and a gas barbecue with the gas included. The shared heated pool and lawn tennis court are about 900 metres away, a short drive or a walk through the estate, and the pool runs from April to the end of September. Each cottage has a two-hour slot to itself between 10am and 4pm, and children must be accompanied. Parking is ample and off the road.

Three dogs are allowed, with additional charges that may apply. Dogs on leads are welcome in Minterne Gardens, which guests can enter daily from 10am to 6pm. The beach is 15 miles away and shops and pubs are 2 miles. The house suits a large family gathering or a group of friends who want a hot tub and plenty of rooms.
