Charleston Cottage

Charleston Cottage is a period house in Charmouth, believed to date to the 1800s and once part of an old coaching inn. The sitting room has high ceilings, a Victorian fireplace and an electric flame-effect fire. Glazed double doors lead through to the kitchen/diner, which has an induction hob, an electric oven, a microwave, a dishwasher and a coffee machine. A lobby at the back houses the washing machine and opens to the garden.

The double bedroom at the front has an en-suite shower room, and the bunk bedroom at the rear looks over the Marshwood Vale. The cottage takes a maximum of two adults and two children, or three adults. The ground-floor bathroom has a bath with a shower over, and there is a step down into it. Gas central heating, WiFi and a Smart TV are included, with fuel, power, bed linen and towels covered in the rent.

The enclosed garden is laid out on two levels, with seating on a patio by the back door and steps down to the lawn. A path leads to the garden gate and the rear car park, which fits one car and is entered through a coaching arch. The arch has a height limit of 2.2m and a width limit of 2.9m, and the space is for cars only, not camper vans, motor homes or trailers. A bus stop stands opposite the cottage, and the beach and shop are each 0.3 miles away, with the pub 0.1 miles.

One well-behaved dog is welcome. Smoking is not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits a couple, or a small family, who want a cottage with a garden and a dog-friendly stay.
