Fern Cottage

Fern Cottage is a terraced cottage for four, surrounded by 30 acres of fields and woodland with an ornamental lake close by. Charmouth is a mile to the east, and Lyme Regis is 2.5 miles to the west. The shop, the pub and the beach are each a mile away, and arrival is from 3pm.

Downstairs are an airy lounge/diner with a TV, a DVD player and a dining table, a kitchen looking towards the woods, and the family bathroom. Two bedrooms are upstairs, each with a skylight: a king-size with its own en-suite bathroom, and a twin. The kitchen has an electric hob and oven, a dual oven/microwave, a fridge and a freezer. There is no washing machine in the cottage; a coin-operated washer and dryer are in a shared laundry room by the hotel.

A small garden with seating is reached from the front door by walking round the terrace to the walkway at the back. Guests share the hotel's barbecue area and can book a 50-minute slot in the outdoor swimming pool, one slot per household per day, for a non-refundable payment per person. Children need supervising near the lake and the pool because the water is deep.

Private parking is outside the property, and a travel cot and highchair are available. No dogs are allowed. The cottage suits a couple, or a family with one or two children, who want fields and woodland around them and a pool they can book.
