Foxley Cottage

Foxley Cottage is a thatched cottage in Charmouth that keeps the ceiling beams and sloping walls of its age. Some of those sloping ceilings restrict headroom, and some of the stairs are steep, which may be unsuitable for guests with lower mobility. The sitting room has an electric fire stove, and the dining table is in the same room as the sitting area. The heater in the fireplace is an electric warm air heater, not a gas stove.

There are two bedrooms. The double has an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower, and the second is a single with a pull-out truckle bed. That second bedroom is small, so the cottage is best suited to guests over the age of 12. The family bathroom is on the ground floor and has a bath with a shower over it.

The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a washing machine, and the cottage has Sky TV and WiFi. Outside is an enclosed patio with raised beds and furniture, and four steps lead up to a small gravelled seating area. Parking is on the street and is not allocated.

The cottage does not take pets or smokers, and a bond is payable for housekeeping. The shop is 0.2 miles away and the pub 0.1 miles. Foxley Cottage suits a couple, or a small group of guests over 12, who are happy with low ceilings and steep stairs.
