Hillcot Cottage - Charmouth

Hillcot Cottage is an 18th-century house up a steep, quiet lane in Charmouth, with the pub 150 metres away, the shops 400 metres and the beach half a mile. It sleeps four and does not take dogs.

The ground floor is one open-plan space for lounge, kitchen and dining. A wood burner warms the lounge, with the first basket of logs included from October to the end of April, and the lounge also has a Smart TV with a DVD player, a music system and a big collection of DVDs. The kitchen has an induction hob, an oven, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge and an air fryer. The freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer are in the utility area next door. The cottage is heated by electric panel heaters.

Upstairs are a double with a Smart TV and glimpses of the sea, and a twin overlooking the garden, where the eaves reduce the head height. The shower room, with a shower and a WC, is also on the first floor.

A small courtyard lies at the front. The back garden is reached by a few steps and has a sunny terrace with furniture and a BBQ, beside a large sloping lawn. Parking is on the lane, which leads to a small nature reserve. The cottage suits a couple or two friends who want a walk down to the beach and are comfortable with a steep lane and a few garden steps.
