Thimble Cottage - Charmouth

Thimble Cottage is an 18th-century house in Charmouth, halfway up a steep lane that leads to a National Trust nature reserve. The beach is less than a mile away, and the shops and pub are within 0.5 miles. It sleeps four, and dogs are not allowed.

The lounge has exposed beams, a Victorian fireplace and an open fire. Logs and coal are provided free from October to 30 April, but kindling and firelighters are not. The light kitchen/diner has an electric oven, a gas hob, a fridge, a freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Central heating covers the house.

Upstairs are two bedrooms with pine floors and furniture. One has a king-size bed and glimpses towards the sea, and the other has twin beds. Both have shelves and cupboards built into the old walls. The shower room, with a shower and a WC, is on the same floor. Wi-Fi is included for email and browsing only, so ask before booking whether the speed is enough for downloads or streaming. A cot and a highchair can be requested.

At the front, an enclosed south-facing courtyard garden has seating. Parking is on the lane. The cottage suits a couple, or two adults with two children, who want a small cottage with a fire and the village shops within a short walk.
