Throop House Cottage - Bournemouth

This detached cottage is in the village of Throop, on the edge of the River Stour and next to Throop Mill, about 4 miles from Bournemouth. Electric gates open onto the drive, which has off-road parking for 4 cars. CCTV covers the driveway and part of the garden.

Downstairs are a lounge with a Smart TV and a wood burner (logs are not included), a separate dining room and the kitchen. French doors from the lounge lead to the terrace. The kitchen has a gas oven and hob, a microwave, a washing machine, a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer. Upstairs, a king-size bedroom and a twin bedroom both have built-in wardrobes, and a family shower room with WC finishes the floor.

The garden runs down to the river, which guests can reach directly, and all children must be supervised at all times. Part of it is a terrace with a seating area, the rest is lawn, and a shed holds bikes, fishing gear, golf clubs or beach toys. A fishing permit is available on request from the local angling association.

The shop is 0.8 miles away, the pub and restaurant 1.2 miles and the beach 4 miles. Dogs are not allowed. Check-in is from 16:00 and departure is before 10:00. It suits a couple or a small family with older children who want a quiet river setting and a car to hand.
