Lighthouse View

Lighthouse View is a compact, studio-style apartment on the second floor, above the Atlantic Academy on the Isle of Portland. It overlooks the school playground and has views out across the sea, and a lift serves the second floor.

The open-plan room has a large window and combines a double bed with reading lights above it, a kitchen area with a breakfast bar, and dining and seating space where the sofa converts to a single bed; the apartment is booked for two guests. The kitchen has a combi microwave/oven, a fridge with a freezer box, a kettle and a toaster, and the shower room has a shower cubicle. TV, WiFi and electric central heating are provided, and bed linen, towels, fuel and power are included in the rent.

Parking is a designated off-road space for one car. The shop is 0.5 miles away and the pub 0.7 miles. A coastal walk at Portland Bill, home to a working lighthouse, is among the options nearby. Portland Castle is another stop on the island.

Pets are not permitted, nor is smoking. The apartment suits a couple on a coastal break who like the idea of a single open-plan room with the sea in view.
