Ammonite Cottage

Ammonite Cottage is a refurbished Portland cottage in Fortuneswell, on the Isle of Portland. It stands a few minutes' walk from Chesil Cove, and Quiddles restaurant and the Cove House Inn are both a short walk from the cottage. A pedestrian walkway leads to it, and vehicles can reach it only to drop off and pick up.

Downstairs, a sitting room with a coal-effect fire and a dining table, and a kitchen whose door leads to a rear courtyard. Stone steps climb from the back yard to a terrace. The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher, and the cottage has WiFi, a CD player, a DVD player and gas central heating. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent.

Up the cottage stairs are a king-size bedroom and a twin, and a bathroom with a bath, a separate shower cubicle, a WC and a basin. A cot and a highchair are on hand for small children. Parking is in two council car parks that allow free 72-hour stays, or on the adjacent roads. A good-housekeeping bond is payable.

The owners do not take pets. The cottage suits a couple or a small family who can manage the steps to the terrace and leave the car in a nearby car park.
