Marles Farmhouse

Marles Farmhouse is a detached stone-built house standing between the villages of Salwayash and Waytown, on the edge of the Marshwood Vale and about 4.5 miles from Bridport. It has no near neighbours: the owner lives on site in a converted dairy. Thick stone walls and exposed beams date from the 19th century, and the house was refurbished in 2015.

It sleeps twelve in six bedrooms. The first floor has two king-size rooms with en-suite shower rooms, two twins whose beds zip and link into a 6ft double on request, an adult bunk room, and two bathrooms with a bath and shower. On the ground floor are a twin bedroom with a Smart TV and a shower room. The big kitchen has a range cooker, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine, with a dining area, and a large utility room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and American fridge-freezer.

There are two sitting spaces, each with a wood burning stove and wood supplied. One is a family/games room with a Smart TV, music system and piano, and across the drive an open-fronted garage has table tennis. WiFi runs throughout. Outdoors are an enclosed garden, a rear terrace with picnic benches, a charcoal barbecue, a climbing frame and swings.

Parking takes six cars, and there is an electric vehicle charging point, charged at cost and paid direct to the owner. Two well-behaved dogs are welcome. There are two cots and two highchairs. Smoking and vaping are not allowed, the water comes from a private supply that is tested regularly, check-in is at 4pm and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits two or three families, or a big group of friends, who want space and a games room.
