Poppy Cottage

Poppy Cottage is one of about twelve in a terrace on the edge of Charlton Marshall, a village two miles south of Blandford Forum. You go down a couple of steps through the porch into the sitting room, where an open fire sits beside the dining area. The kitchen has a dishwasher and a microwave, and there is a TV with a DVD player and WiFi.

Upstairs, reached by steep stairs, are two bedrooms that both look over the garden. One is a double. The other has a single bed and a 2ft 6in truckle bed that is only suitable for children. The cottage sleeps a maximum of four including babies, but it works best for three adults at most. The cottage has one bathroom, with a bath, a shower over it, a basin and a WC.

The garden is enclosed, with a table and chairs among roses and clematis, and off-road parking takes two cars. A pub is less than a mile away. A cot and highchair can be provided on request. Fuel and power, bed linen and towels are included, and a starter pack of coal and logs is supplied, with more coal available from the owner and logs to buy locally.

Pets and smoking are not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. Poppy Cottage suits a small family or a couple who like a real fire and an enclosed garden, and who do not mind a couple of steps down through the porch and a steep staircase.
