Stour Mill Cottage

Stour Mill Cottage is a single-storey cottage at the end of a recently resurfaced, narrow lane in Durweston. Blandford Forum is 3 miles south. It sleeps four in two bedrooms, a king-size with a view over the garden, and a twin with 2ft 6 beds that can be made up as a king if you ask when booking. The pub and the shop are within walking distance, and the beach is 18.5 miles away.

The lounge/diner has a wood burner (logs are provided), a Smart TV, a DVD player and a selection of books. The galley-style kitchen just off it has an oven, hob, microwave, fridge/freezer, Nespresso machine, air fryer, dishwasher and washing machine. The one bathroom is a shower room with a WC.

Patio doors from the lounge lead to a covered seating area, and the fully enclosed garden has furniture, a charcoal BBQ and a large lawn with outdoor games. There is a games room with table football, and a play area. The owner has a private stretch of the River Stour where guests can launch canoes if they bring them, and fishing can be arranged with the owner. A shepherd's hut in a nearby paddock can be booked as an extra with the owner before arrival, at an additional cost.

Two dogs are allowed, but not on furniture or beds, and they must be on leads in the shared grounds. Additional charges may apply. Parking is ample. Check-in is from 2.30pm. Short breaks need an enquiry by phone. The cottage suits a family or two couples who want a games room and a river.
