The Grain Silo

The Grain Silo is a converted silo in the grounds of a working farm at Creech, near Corfe Castle. The conversion has a hand-built staircase that curves up to the first floor, an oak porch and a curved kitchen. The ground floor is one open-plan room for cooking, eating and sitting, with a Smart TV and a rear door that looks over open countryside.

The kitchen has an electric double oven, an induction hob, a fridge with a freezer box, a dishwasher and a microwave. Upstairs is a double bedroom with a Juliette balcony, and the en-suite shower room has a WC. The cottage is booked for two. A sofa bed in the lounge converts to a double. Internet access is included. The pub and shop are 3 miles away, and the beach 4 miles.

At the back is an enclosed garden with furniture, mainly lawn, though walks within the grounds are limited. Off-road parking takes two cars. The farm has livestock roaming the fields, and gunfire can be heard on some days from an army firing range near Lulworth. With prior consent, guests can arrange a space in a field for one or two horses or ponies. Dogs are not allowed. It suits a couple who want a quiet farm base and have a car, as the shop and pub are 3 miles away. Arrival is from 3pm and departure before 10am.
