Afflington Manor Cottage

Afflington Manor Cottage is a semi-detached Purbeck stone house near Corfe Castle, reached along a private drive and surrounded by acres of farmland. It sleeps five in three bedrooms: a single on the ground floor and two doubles reached by a carpeted staircase. The one bathroom is on the first floor, with a bath, a separate shower and a WC. An additional single bed can be made up on request, but the cottage is booked for five.

The lounge has two sofas, a window seat, a TV with a DVD player and a wood burner, and the first basket of logs is included. A conservatory holds the dining area. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a washing machine. Shops are within walking distance. This is a traditional cottage with low doorways, which guests should bear in mind before booking.

The garden has a large lawn, a patio and outdoor furniture. A small gate at the end opens onto a path that crosses a small stream and leads into fields of arable land and grazing, where cows, sheep and a small number of alpacas live. The 600 acres of fields include two unfenced ponds. A tennis court can be used by prior arrangement. Two cars fit on the private drive. Dogs are not allowed. It suits a family of up to five who want to walk out onto farmland. Arrival is from 3pm and departure before 10am.
