Afflington Manor Lodge

Afflington Manor Lodge is a semi-detached stone cottage over 200 years old, standing in the grounds of Afflington Manor, a short walk through the countryside from Corfe Castle. It sleeps five. The three bedrooms are upstairs, a double, a twin and a single, each looking onto the garden. The one bathroom is on the ground floor and has a bath, a separate shower and a WC. Shops are within walking distance.

The lounge has comfortable sofas and a TV with a DVD player. A heated conservatory holds the dining area, and its double doors open directly onto the garden. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a dishwasher, a fridge/freezer and a washing machine. It is a traditional cottage with low doorways, which is worth knowing before booking.

The garden has a large lawn and outdoor furniture. Through the gate, a footpath crosses a small stream to acres of fields where alpacas, cows and sheep graze. The grounds include lakes that draw ducks and herons, and the 600 acres of fields include two unfenced ponds. An AstroTurf tennis court can be booked in advance with the owner. Private parking outside has room for two cars. Dogs are not allowed. It suits a family or a group of five who want walking on the doorstep. Arrival is from 3pm and departure before 10am.
