Avalon

Avalon is a holiday home on a lakeside estate at Crossways, near Dorchester and close to Warmwell. The Jurassic Coast is 6 miles away, a shop is 1.5 miles off and the beach is 6.5 miles. The estate has freshwater lakes, a nature reserve and a private beach that guests can explore, along with a restaurant and a rooftop bar on site.

Two king-size bedrooms are upstairs. One has an en-suite shower room and the other uses the bathroom, which has a shower over the bath, and both open onto a first-floor balcony with glimpses of the lake. Downstairs is one open-plan room for lounge, kitchen and dining, with a wood burner (the first basket of logs is supplied), a Smart TV and a Bluetooth speaker. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher, a fridge, a freezer and a Nespresso machine.

French doors open onto a private decked terrace with outdoor furniture and a charcoal BBQ. The estate's outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, sauna and spa are shared with other guests, and additional charges apply to these and to water sports and bike hire. A refundable security deposit is paid direct to the site. The lakes are unfenced, so children and dogs must be supervised at all times. Quiet hours are observed after 11pm, and stag and hen parties are not allowed.

Up to three dogs are allowed, with additional charges that may apply. Private parking is for one car, with more spaces in the on-site car park. The home suits two couples, or a small family, who want a lakeside estate with its own facilities.
