Bedrock

Bedrock is a blue-painted cottage in a row of terraced houses in Lyme Regis, with the harbour and beach a short walk away. The sitting area has a stone feature wall, an ornamental fireplace, vintage furniture, dark wood roof beams and wooden flooring, and a dining table sits in the same room. A metal railing runs along the staircase up to the first floor.

The kitchen has grey cupboards against stone walls and old wooden doors, and an extra seating area beside a stained-glass half-moon window. It has an electric oven, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge with an ice box and a washer/dryer. The bathroom has a bath and a shower above it. Sleeping arrangements are a king-size bedroom and a twin room. Rent includes gas heating, power, linen and towels.

Outside, there is a small enclosed courtyard at the rear and a patio for eating out. Parking is not at the cottage: one permit is supplied for the Woodmead car park on Hill Road, within five minutes on foot, with no allocated space and no guarantee of a place. A stairgate will not fit anywhere in the cottage.

Neither pets nor smoking is permitted, and the booking carries a good-housekeeping bond. The shop is 0.3 miles off and a pub is 0.1 miles away. It suits a family of four, or two couples, who are happy to leave the car in a public car park and walk everywhere.
