Bridge Cottage

Bridge Cottage is a restored 17th century thatched cottage, Grade II listed and detached, in the middle of Chideock and about a mile from the Jurassic Coast. It sleeps eight. The shop is 0.1 miles away, the pub 0.2 miles and the beach 0.3 miles, and off-road parking takes three cars. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am.

The lounge/dining room has an inglenook fireplace with a woodburner, and a basket of logs and kindling is supplied, and the rent covers fuel, power, bed linen and towels. The other rooms are a kitchen/breakfast room, a garden room, a utility room and a ground-floor shower room. Appliances are an electric oven and hob, an air fryer, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. There is a Smart TV, WiFi and a highchair.

Upstairs are four bedrooms: a double with an en-suite walk-in shower, a second double, a twin and a bunk room, plus a family bathroom with a bath and shower over. The en-suite double is reached through the bunk bedroom. Ceilings are low in places, with beams and uneven floors. The layout suits a family or two couples with children.

The enclosed rear garden has lawns, patio seating and furniture. The rear stream is fenced, but the front parking area is not, so younger children may need supervision. Two dogs are welcome, not upstairs or on the furniture. A good housekeeping bond is payable and smoking is not allowed. Two charging points for electric vehicles are in the car park opposite, next to the Spar shop.
