Peter's Finger

Peter's Finger is a thatched cottage on a lane in Chideock that runs down towards Seatown. It sleeps 6 in three bedrooms: two doubles, one of which has an extra single bed, and a bunk room with two 2ft 6in beds. A shower room is downstairs and the bathroom upstairs has a roll-top bath.

The layout has plenty of small level changes. A step leads up from the front door, the sitting and dining room is split level with one step, and further steps take you up to the kitchen and the sun room behind it. Some rooms are reached by steps because of the cottage's age, so it may not be suitable for guests with limited mobility. The sitting room has a wood burner, with the fire laid and ready on arrival from October to April, plus a TV/DVD player and a selection of books, games and DVDs. The kitchen has a range cooker, dishwasher, microwave and washing machine, and a stairgate is available.

Behind the sun room, the enclosed garden rises in tiers. Four steps lead up to a patio, a few more small steps reach a bench on the top tier, and there is a BBQ and lawn. Fireworks are not permitted in the garden because of the thatch. Off-road parking for two cars is directly opposite the cottage. There is an EV charging point in the village car park by the Spar shop, not at the cottage. The shop and two pubs are within 300 metres, and the beach and another pub at Seatown are within a mile.

One dog is allowed, with an additional charge possible. The cottage suits a family or two couples who want a thatched village base with a garden and do not mind steps.
