Bucket & Spade

Bucket & Spade is a detached house with a thatched roof, in Lyme Regis, arranged on reverse levels so the open-plan living area has a view of the ocean below. Wooden flooring, exposed roof beams and French windows onto an enclosed balcony shape the main room, and the kitchen runs to an induction hob, a combi oven, a dishwasher, a coffee machine and a plate-warming drawer.

Two bedrooms are on the ground floor: a king-size with an en-suite walk-in shower room, and a twin whose beds cannot be joined into a double. A single bedroom with an app-based smart TV is on the first floor, so the house sleeps five. Family bathing is in a bathroom with a bath and shower over it, and a separate WC sits upstairs.

There is a utility room, the appliances include a washer/dryer, and a safety gate is provided. Gas heating, a 55-inch smart TV, a Roberts Bluetooth sound system and WiFi are included, with bed linen, towels, fuel and power covered by the rent.

Outside, the enclosed garden has a lawn and a raised decking area with a table and chairs. Two cars can park off the road. Barbecues are not permitted because of the thatch, the house takes no pets and is non-smoking, and a good-housekeeping bond is due as well. Building works are carried out from time to time on the neighbouring property. The house suits a family or a group of adults sharing who don't mind climbing the stairs to the open-plan living area.
