Chesil House

Chesil House is a six-bedroom country house at Chebbard, 8 miles from Dorchester and 11.5 miles from Blandford Forum, and it sleeps twelve. All the bedrooms are on the first floor: three super-king-size rooms (two have zip-and-link beds that can be made into twins on request), a king-size and two doubles. Five bathrooms serve them, including an en-suite with a freestanding bath in a super-king room that also has a dressing room.

Downstairs there is a lounge with an open fire, a family room with a second open fire, and a kitchen, lounge and dining room with a wood burner and a breakfast bar. The cooker is a Lacanche range with three ovens, and there is a dishwasher, a wine fridge, two washing machines and two tumble dryers. The gym has cushioned flooring, an elliptical runner, an exercise bike, a Pilates reformer and a full set of weights, and there is a sauna.

The garden has a lawn, a patio, a BBQ and outdoor furniture, with a dining space for up to 16 people. It is not enclosed, so children and pets need supervision. Parking is private and off-road for eight cars. The shop is 3 miles away and the pub 2.5 miles.

A full breakfast hamper is prepared for each day, a daily housekeeping service can be arranged, and private catering can be sourced for an additional cost. A pair of dogs can come too, though additional charges may apply. Two travel cots and two highchairs are available on request. The house suits a large family or a group of friends who want space and a gym.
