Glyde House

Glyde House is a detached house in Dorchester, two minutes' walk from the water meadows of the River Frome and five minutes from the town's shops, pubs and restaurants. The shop is 0.2 miles away and the nearest pub 0.1 mile. Off-road parking takes four cars, and the rent includes fuel, power, bed linen and towels.

The living and dining room seats eight around an open fire and has a dining table with chairs for eight, plus a baby grand piano. The kitchen/diner has a smart TV and sofa area, and there is a utility room. Appliances include an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and washing machine, and there is a selection of books. A travel cot and highchair are available.

Five bedrooms give a mix of beds: a king with a television and an en-suite bathroom, a ground-floor king with its own en-suite bathroom, a double, a twin and a single. A family bathroom on the first floor and a ground-floor cloakroom complete the set. Eight guests is the maximum, so book with that limit in mind.

The wraparound enclosed garden has a lawn, decking and furniture, with views over the water meadows, and children can play on the grounds while adults try croquet. Three well-behaved pets are welcome, and smoking is not allowed. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out is at 10am, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits a large family or two families who want room for pets, a garden and a walk into town.
