Crabstones

Crabstones is a cottage laid out over three floors at the top of a hill in Swanage, with a local pub next door. The beach is a half-mile walk, and a shop is 100 yards away. Five steps lead up to the front door.

The hall has storage for coats and boots, and the kitchen and dining room has granite worktops and a tiled floor. French doors open to the courtyard, and there is a downstairs WC. The cottage has a cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and drier. Wi-Fi broadband and central heating are included.

On the first floor are the sitting room, with views of Swanage Bay and Ballard Down, and two bedrooms. The second floor has a large double bedroom and a bathroom with a bath, a WC and a basin, and reduced ceiling height in the eaves. The three bedrooms are a double, a twin and a single, and the house has one bathroom and one shower room, plus the downstairs WC.

The larger rear courtyard garden is paved, with a Purbeck stone wall, an olive tree, herb planters and seating. A small front terrace is edged with iron railings. Parking is for one car. Towels are included, but bring your own beach or pool towels. One dog is welcome, and additional charges may apply. Check-in is from 3pm and check-out before 10am. It suits a small family or three friends who do not mind five steps and low ceilings on the top floor, and who like a pub next door.
