Drongstyle Cottage

Drongstyle Cottage is a detached, thatched cob cottage in the village of Tarrant Monkton, in the Tarrant Valley, with the market town of Blandford Forum nearby. It sleeps five. The front door dates back to the 1500s, and the pub is within walking distance. The shop is 3 miles away and the beach is 17 miles.

The country kitchen has a Smeg oven, a fridge/freezer, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washer/dryer and a Nespresso machine. The lounge/diner has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner and original bread ovens, with the first basket of logs included from October to April, and steps up to a snug. Both have Smart TVs. A freezer and a tumble dryer are in the garage.

The single bedroom and a shower room with a WC are on the ground floor. Upstairs are a double, a twin and a bathroom with a bath, a separate shower and a WC. The cottage is old, so levels change and there are low beams and doorways throughout, and headroom is restricted in places.

The private garden is enclosed by hedging and has a lawn, a dining table, a corner sofa and two sun loungers. Strictly no BBQs are allowed because of the thatch, and electric vehicles must not be charged from the house. There is a private water supply, and a CCTV camera covers the front door for security. Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. The cottage suits a small family or friends who like old buildings.
