Forge Cottage

Forge Cottage is in the coastal village of West Lulworth, and Lulworth Cove is a five-minute walk away, with the Dorset coast path close by. It adjoins a sister cottage, Little Forge. The farmhouse-style kitchen is large enough to dine in, with a range-style oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher, Nespresso machine, fridge, freezer and washing machine. In the sitting room, an inglenook fireplace holds a log burner, and the beams are on show.

Upstairs are three bedrooms and a bathroom with a P-shaped bath and a shower over it. They are a king-size, a twin and a single, so the cottage sleeps five. A second shower room, with a double shower, basin and WC, is downstairs. The stairs may be hard going for anyone with limited mobility.

There is WiFi, plus a Bose speaker dock, and gas central heating. Fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included, and a first basket of logs is provided. A cot, highchair and stairgate can be supplied. The lawned garden is at the rear and has furniture.

The off-road bay takes two cars and measures 3m by 5m. The nearest pay-and-display car park is at Lulworth Cove, about 15 minutes' walk. Electric car charging is not permitted. The cottage welcomes one well-behaved dog. Arrivals are on Fridays only, and from 1 May to 1 October the minimum stay is seven nights. A refundable good-housekeeping bond is taken. The cottage suits a family of up to five, or a couple with a dog, who want to walk to the cove.
