Honeypot Cottage - Weymouth

Honeypot Cottage is an old stone and cob cottage in Preston, set back from the main road into Weymouth, which is 3.5 miles away. It was once part of a farmhouse, and it sleeps two in a single double bedroom. The village shop and pub are within half a mile.

A stable door opens into a hallway with room for coats and boots. The compact farmhouse-style kitchen has a hob, an oven, a fridge, a microwave and a dishwasher, and it leads to an open-plan lounge and dining area with a wood burner and a Smart TV. Logs are included from October to the end of April. Open-tread stairs climb to the eaves, where the double bedroom has reduced head height, and the bathroom has a bath with an overhead shower. Wi-Fi is included but covers email and web browsing only.

Parking is off-road, and a few steps lead down from the parking area to a sloping, enclosed garden with a lawn, shrubs and a gravelled seating area. An outhouse holds the washing machine and a freezer.

One dog is allowed, and additional charges may apply. It suits a couple who want a quiet village base on the way into Weymouth, with a dog if they like, and who are comfortable with open stairs and a low bedroom ceiling.
