L'Ancresse Cottage

L'Ancresse Cottage is a three-bedroom house in a cul-de-sac on the Monmouth Park development, on the edge of Lyme Regis and facing south. The beach and the South West Coast Path are about three quarters of a mile away along a downhill walk, the shop is 0.4 miles away and the pub 0.6 miles.

The cottage sleeps six, but no more than five adults: the limit is either five adults, or four adults and two children. Upstairs are two double bedrooms and a single with an optional pull-out truckle and its own en-suite shower room, which has a walk-in shower, a basin and a WC. The family bathroom has a bath with a shower over and a heated towel rail. From up here there are views towards the town and the hills, with glimpses of the sea.

Downstairs, the sitting room, dining area and kitchen share one open-plan space, with oak flooring and underfloor heating across much of it. The kitchen has an electric oven, an induction hob, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a Nespresso machine that takes original-type pods, which are not supplied. A Smart TV and WiFi are provided, and the sitting room opens onto a raised paved terrace.

The garden is enclosed. Steps lead down from the terrace to a lawn, with a patio and furniture, and it backs onto Colway Lane. A pedestrian gate gives access to the allocated space for one car, with more unallocated parking on the street. The house also has a cloakroom. No pets and no smoking. Check-in is from 4pm and check-out by 10am, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. It suits a family of six, but no more than five adults can stay.
