Lodge 16

Lodge 16 is a single-storey forest lodge on the outskirts of Corfe Castle, and it takes up to two well-behaved pets as well as four guests. The dining table seats four, and the open-plan kitchen has an oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher.

Beyond the kitchen is the sitting area, with a corner sofa, a flat-screen TV and the woodburning stove, and the rent covers the fuel, power and starter pack for it along with bed linen and towels. The two bedrooms are a king-size with an en-suite bath and shower over, and a twin with zip/link beds that can be joined into one bed on request. A separate shower room with a walk-in shower, basin and WC completes the lodge.

On private decking sit the furniture, a barbecue stand for disposable barbecues only, and the hot tub. Additional fees apply to the sauna and cold plunge facilities, and private sessions are subject to availability. Parking is off-road. A shop and a pub are 2.8 miles away.

Smoking is not allowed, and guests arriving after 6pm should phone about the key. Families bringing an infant can ask for a cot and highchair, which carry a charge per stay, and the infant counts as one of the four. It suits a family of four, or two couples, with a dog.
