Lodge 17

Lodge 17 has an en-suite bath with a shower over it off the king-size bedroom, twin beds in the second bedroom, and a separate shower room with a walk-in shower, so two bathrooms serve four guests. It is a single-storey forest lodge on a holiday complex near Corfe Castle, and two well-behaved pets are welcome.

The open-plan room combines the kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area built around a woodburning stove, with a TV and WiFi. The kitchen has an oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher, and there is central heating. Fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove are covered by the rent, as are bed linen and towels. A balcony with decking, furniture and a hot tub is outside, and the lodge has off-road parking.

There is no light pollution, so stargazing is an option on clear nights. New sauna and cold plunge facilities are available for an additional fee, with private sessions subject to availability. Barbecues must be disposable ones. Smoking is not allowed. Infants count towards the party number, and a cot or highchair is an extra charge per stay. Anyone arriving after 6pm should call to arrange key collection, and the shop and pub are 2.8 miles away. The lodge suits two couples, or friends sharing, who want a hot tub and are bringing a dog or two.
