Lodge 2

Lodge 2 is built the other way up: the two twin bedrooms are on the ground floor and the living space is up the stairs. It stands on the Burnbake Forest Lodges and Campsite, on the outskirts of Corfe Castle, and sleeps six across three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Downstairs, one twin has zip/link beds that can be made up as a king-size on request, and the ground-floor Jack-and-Jill bathroom has a bath with a shower over it. Upstairs, the open-plan room holds the kitchen, a dining table for six and a sitting area with a woodburning stove, and the third bedroom is a king-size with its own en-suite walk-in shower. Fuel, power and a starter pack for the stove are included in the rent, along with bed linen and towels.

The balcony is decked and furnished, with a hot tub and a barbecue stand that takes disposable barbecues only, so bring your own or buy one at the on-site shop. The kitchen has an oven, hob, fridge and dishwasher, and there is central heating, a TV, WiFi and off-road parking. A shop and a pub are 2.8 miles away.

Two well-behaved pets are welcome, so the lodge suits a family or group of six with a dog or two, as long as everyone is happy with stairs between the bedrooms and the living area. Smoking is not allowed. Infants count towards the party of six, and cots and highchairs are charged per stay. Anyone arriving after 6pm should phone ahead to arrange key collection.
