Maries

Maries is a single-storey thatched cottage, set high enough to look out over the Jurassic coastline, with Lyme Regis a short walk away for the harbour, the beach and the shops. The open-plan living space has a dining area, a sitting area, wood beams, a traditional fireplace, a log-effect gas fire and picture windows facing the coast. A sunroom adds a quieter seating area with views over to the sea.

There are two bedrooms, a double and a king-size, and the king-size has French doors onto a terrace. The bathroom has a bath with a thermostatic shower over it, and a separate cloakroom has a basin and WC. The kitchen/diner comes with a dishwasher, washing machine, coffee machine and microwave. The rent covers gas central heating, fuel and power, bed linen and towels.

Gardens run along the front and the south side with sloping lawns, and a small rear garden has a patio and furniture. Two cars fit on the drive off the road, but the turning is tight, so larger cars need care. The nearest shop is 0.4 miles away and the pub 0.3 miles. Reaching the front door means external steps or a slope, and there are two more steps indoors, so think about that before you book.

The cottage takes two well-behaved dogs and is non-smoking. The owners also ask for a good-housekeeping bond. The cottage suits two couples or a family who want all the rooms on one storey, a garden for the dogs and somewhere to eat looking at the coast. A large table with coastal views and fast internet also make it workable for a few days of remote working.
