Monmouth Cottage

Monmouth Cottage is a period property in the middle of Lyme Regis, arranged over three floors with four bedrooms for six guests. There are two doubles and two singles, and one double and one single are on the second floor. A single bathroom has a bath with a shower over it.

The open-plan living space has wood panelling, original tiled flooring, a sitting area, a dining table and an electric fire in the style of a woodburner. The kitchen is small but holds an electric oven and grill, a gas hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine/tumble dryer. Heating is gas central, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included in the rent. The nearest pub is 0.1 miles away and the nearest shop 0.2 miles.

Because of the age of the building there are steep steps both inside and outside, which is worth weighing up before booking. The small courtyard terrace has patio furniture and its own steep steps, so children must be supervised whenever they are out there.

Parking is by permit: the booking includes one permit for the Woodmead car park on Hill Road, within five minutes' walk, with no allocated space and subject to availability. There are no pets and no smoking, and guests pay a good-housekeeping bond. The cottage suits a family or group of adults who want to be in town and are happy with stairs.
