Napier Farmhouse

Napier Farmhouse is a detached farmhouse on the Minterne Estate at Minterne Magna, near Cerne Abbas, and it sits alongside the estate's farm buildings. It sleeps ten in five bedrooms: a super-king-size zip-and-link that can be a twin on request, three doubles and a twin. Two single beds can be added in one of the doubles on request, but the booking is for ten. There are three bathrooms in all.

A boot room at the private entrance has a washing machine, tumble dryer and freezer, with a shower room and WC next door. The family kitchen has a range-style cooker with a gas hob and electric ovens, a microwave, a fridge and a dishwasher, and some basics are provided, such as tea, coffee, bread and dishwasher tablets. The snug has an open fire, the sitting room has a wood burner and a TV, and logs are provided. A travel cot and high chair are available on request.

The enclosed garden has furniture, a private hot tub and a gas barbecue with a cylinder supplied. Across the lane, a shared walled garden holds a lawn tennis court and a heated outdoor pool with a changing room. The pool is open from April to the end of September, between 10am and 4pm, and each cottage gets a two-hour slot to itself each day, and you bring your own pool towels. Children must be accompanied. Gardens at Minterne are open to guests from 10am to 6pm.

Two dogs are allowed, with additional charges that may apply, and they must be on leads in the gardens. The beach is 15 miles away, and shops and pubs are 2 miles. The farmhouse suits a large family or a group of friends who want a hot tub and a pool without leaving the estate.
