Raleighs

Raleighs is a village house in the middle of Cerne Abbas that dates back to 1580. The large sitting room has an inglenook fireplace with a wood burner, ceiling beams and oak window shutters, and the first basket of logs is supplied. A second sitting area has two armchairs and a small dining table.

The farmhouse-style kitchen/diner has an electric Aga, an induction hob, an electric cooker, a microwave, a dishwasher, a washing machine and a fridge/freezer. A welcome pack is provided. The living space has an HD TV, a Sonos sound system, a radio and a CD player. Mobile signal is weak.

Upstairs, three bedrooms hold six: a king-size with courtyard views and two doubles, and one double can be made into a twin if you ask when booking. A family bathroom is on the first floor, and a shower room is downstairs. The stairs are uneven, so supervise children on them. Please bring your own beach towels.

The private courtyard garden has furniture and a traditional Italian pizza oven that doubles as a barbecue. Private parking takes two small cars or one medium car, and there is more on the street. Two dogs are allowed, and additional charges may apply. The shop and pub are just over 150 metres away and the beach is 16 miles. The house suits a family or friends who want a village base and an outdoor oven.
