The Bothy At Minterne House

The Bothy at Minterne House is a semi-detached cottage in a walled garden on the Minterne Estate at Minterne Magna, near Cerne Abbas. It sleeps six: two super-king-size bedrooms and a twin. The twin is on the ground floor, with an en-suite bathroom with a bath, next to a lounge and a boot room.

Upstairs, one super-king-size has its own en-suite bathroom with a bath, and the other has a shower room just opposite. The living space is a first-floor open-plan lounge, kitchen and dining room with a wood burner (all logs are provided) and a Smart TV. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge, a freezer and a dishwasher, and a travel cot and highchair can be requested.

From the ground-floor lounge, doors lead into the walled garden, which has a patio with furniture, a private hot tub and a charcoal barbecue with coal supplied. A connecting door gives onto the shared heated pool, open from April to the end of September, and the lawn tennis court. Each cottage has a two-hour slot to itself between 10am and 4pm, and you may meet other guests at other times. Children must be supervised at the pool, and you bring your own pool towels. Parking is ample and off the road.

One dog is allowed, with additional charges that may apply, and it must be on a lead in the gardens. The beach is 15 miles away and shops and pubs are 2 miles. The cottage suits a family or three couples who want a hot tub and a pool within the garden wall.
