Speedwell Cottage

Speedwell Cottage is a cottage over 200 years old in Worth Matravers, since extended and refurbished, with Langton Matravers 2 miles away and Swanage 4 miles. The pub and tearooms are a short walk. It has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. A fairly narrow, steep staircase leads to the first floor.

The main lounge has French doors to a terrace, a Purbeck stone fireplace with a wood burner and a TV/DVD. A smaller second lounge has a choice of children's games and another TV/DVD. The dining room has a Purbeck stone floor. The galley kitchen has an electric oven and hob, and the adjoining utility area has a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. A double bedroom on the ground floor opens by a French door to the garden, next to a shower room. Upstairs are a king-size main bedroom with views to the sea and downs and an en-suite bathroom, a small room with a 4ft 6in bed that counts as a single because the bed is reachable from one side only, and a double with an extra single bed, plus a bathroom with a shower over the bath.

The garden is walled, gated and fenced, with large lawns, a raised patio, a second patio at the side, a full-size trampoline, a sandpit and garden toys. Three cars fit on the drive. Wi-Fi, bed linen, central heating and electric are all included. Dogs are not permitted. Check-in starts at 17:00 and check-out is before 10:00. The cottage suits a big family or two families sharing, with children who like to play outside.
