The Bakehouse

The Bakehouse is a restored Grade II listed cottage in the middle of Lyme Regis, sleeping six. The kitchen/diner on the ground floor has an exposed stone wall, a dining table, an electric oven, grill and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washing machine and a dishwasher. Up the stairs, the first-floor sitting room has a wood floor, a woodburning stove, exposed stone walls and French doors to the patio.

There are three bedrooms: a double on the ground floor, a second double, and a children's bunk room. The bunks are not recommended for adults, so the two double beds are the adult sleeping places and the bunks are for children. One shower room has a walk-in shower, and there is a cloakroom with a basin and WC. Gas central heating is fitted, with fuel, power, bed linen and towels included.

The gardens have lawns, a summerhouse, a patio and furniture. A short bridged gully runs between the garden and the sitting room, so take care with children over five out there. Children under 5 are not allowed at the property.

Pets and smoking are not permitted. Parking is a permit for Woodmead car park on Hill Road rather than a space: it is one permit, there is no allocated bay, it depends on availability and the car park is within a five-minute walk. The shop and the pub are 0.1 miles away. The cottage is best for a family with school-age children or two couples who want a central base without a car at the door.
