The Barn

The Barn is a single-storey house on the edge of the Dorset AONB in Lytchett Matravers, with woodland views. The village is near Wimborne Minster. It sleeps ten, and although the property is single-storey, it is reached by an external staircase.

Each of the four bedrooms has its own bathroom with a walk-in shower, a basin, a heated towel rail and a WC. One king-size room adds a freestanding bath, the others are a second king-size, a twin, and a family room with a double bed and a bunk. The open-plan living space combines the kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area, and the kitchen has an electric oven, an induction hob, a wine fridge, a washer/dryer, a dishwasher and a coffee machine. Underfloor heating is supplemented by solar panels.

In the enclosed rear garden you will find a hot tub, a patio, a lawn, furniture and a charcoal barbecue with a starter pack. Giant Connect 4 and croquet are provided, and there are bike racks. Highchair and travel cot are available, three cars fit off the road, and car charging is not allowed. Linen, towels, bathrobes, towels for the hot tub, fuel and power are all included in the rent.

The Barn does not take pets or smoking, and it will not accept stag parties or similar group bookings. A good-housekeeping bond is payable, the minimum stay is two nights, and summer school holiday bookings are for 7 nights arriving on a Friday. It can be booked together with Stag Cottage in the same village for up to 16 guests in total. It is best for a large family or two groups of friends, with an en-suite for every bedroom, though the entrance is up an external staircase.
