The Cottage

The Cottage is a single-storey house set on the owner's grounds in the Wimborne Minster area, with space for six guests. It shares a courtyard with The Annex. One bedroom has a king-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a bath, a walk-in shower, a basin and a WC. The other bedroom has a king-size zip-and-link bed that can be set up as twins if you ask, and the shower room has a walk-in shower, a basin and a WC. The sofa bed in the living/dining room sleeps two more.

Bed requests must be made no later than seven days before arrival. The kitchen has an electric oven, an induction hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a washing machine, a dishwasher and a coffee machine. There is a Smart TV, WiFi, and a selection of books and games. Gas central heating is provided, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

Outside is an enclosed garden with a patio and a lawn, plus a shared outdoor tap. Guests also share a large paddock with oak trees and woodland. A tennis court is available at no charge by prior arrangement: bring suitable footwear, rackets are provided and balls are not. Parking is private and off-road for three cars, behind a security gate. One well-behaved dog is welcome, and smoking is not allowed.

A few rules to know: electric vehicles may not be charged at the property, only toilet paper goes down the toilet, and the owners do not accept group student bookings or allow anyone under 18 to stay unaccompanied. A good-housekeeping bond is payable. The shop is 1.4 miles away and the pub 1.6 miles, so this is a place for guests who drive. It suits a family or two couples with a dog who want a single-storey layout and room to roam.
