Owls Nest

Owls Nest is a single-storey lodge in the village of Furzehill, 1.6 miles from Wimborne Minster. It sleeps four. The king-size bedroom has an en-suite with a bath, a shower over it, a basin, a heated towel rail and a WC, and the twin has an en-suite shower, basin, heated towel rail and WC. A cloakroom and utility room holds the washer/dryer.

The open-plan living area combines the kitchen, dining space and a sitting area with an electric fire. The kitchen has a gas oven and five-ring hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher, a wine cooler, a coffee machine, a slow cooker and a grill. A Smart TV with Freeview and streaming apps (you use your own log-in), books and games, WiFi and gas central heating complete the set-up, with fuel, power, bed linen and towels in the rent.

Outside, private decking with furniture wraps round the lodge, and there is a lawn. The site has an outdoor swimming pool and a children's pool, tennis courts, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, an adventure playground, a dog paddock and a shop. The pool is open daily from 9 to 5 in the school holidays and at weekends the rest of the year. Parking takes two cars, and electric vehicle charging is on site.

Two well-behaved dogs are welcome, but not dogs under 18 months, and they must never be left unaccompanied. Three steps lead up to the lodge, so consider that when booking. Smoking is not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. Owls Nest suits a family of four, or a couple with friends, who want the site's pool, courts and playground on the doorstep.
