Parkfield Cottage

Parkfield Cottage is a detached restored barn in the grounds of the owner's cottage in Sturminster Marshall, an East Dorset village on the River Stour. Wimborne Minster is 5.5 miles away. The cottage is mostly on the ground floor, and the double bedroom has a beamed, vaulted ceiling and the only bathroom, an en-suite with a bath, shower over, basin and WC.

The second sleeping space is an eaves mezzanine above the sitting room, a child's twin (2 ft 6 in). It has no door and limited head height, so it is only suitable for children, and the maximum party is 2 adults and 2 children. The sitting room has a dining area and a woodburning stove, and there is gas central heating. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer and a washer/dryer. A travel cot and highchair are available on request.

A glazed door from the bedroom opens onto the private south-facing patio, and a small lawned area has furniture and a barbecue. The River Winterborne flows through the garden, though it often dries up in summer, and young children should be supervised. Parking is for one car. The shop and pub are an 8 minute walk and the minimum stay is two nights. No pets or smoking are allowed. No more than two adults and two children can stay, so it suits a couple or a small family.
