The Hideaway

The Hideaway is a single-storey lodge on a small farm on the outskirts of Portesham, 1.3 miles from the village, and the neighbours are mainly Friesian and Guernsey cows. The shop is 1.1 miles away and the pub is 1.2 miles. Private off-road parking is at the lodge.

The open-plan living space joins a kitchen, a dining area and a sitting area, with a Smart TV and WiFi. The kitchen has an electric double oven, a gas hob, a microwave and a fridge. There are three double bedrooms, but the lodge takes four guests at most, with flexible sleeping arrangements. A shower room has a walk-in shower, a basin and a WC, and a separate cloakroom has a basin and a WC. Gas central heating, fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

Outside, a decked area has furniture, and the lawn has a firepit and a barbecue. The rules are firm: children under 10 are not accepted, the minimum stay is four nights, bookings from workers are not accepted, and a good housekeeping bond is payable.

No pets and no smoking are allowed. It suits two couples, or friends, who want a separate bedroom each and a farm setting. Everything is on one level.
