West Ridge

West Ridge is a detached house built in the early 1900s, in a suburb of Bournemouth called Boscombe. The owners have kept the original character, and the entrance hall has a stained-glass window and parquet flooring. The sitting room has large windows and a feature fireplace, and the house has a separate kitchen, a dining room and a sunroom with glass double doors.

Three bedrooms are on the upper floor: a super-king-size, a double and a twin. The one bathroom has a bath with a shower over, and the ground floor adds a cloakroom with a WC and basin. The kitchen has an electric oven and hob, a microwave, a fridge freezer, a dishwasher and a washing machine. Gas central heating is fitted, and fuel, power, bed linen and towels are included.

The enclosed garden has a lawn, mature planting and a garden house, and off-road parking takes three cars. The beach is 0.2 miles away, the shop 0.4 miles and the pub 0.5 miles. West Ridge faces Shelley Park. Pets and smoking are not allowed, and a good-housekeeping bond is payable. Bookings need a minimum of four nights, rising to five in December, and the changeover day is strictly Thursday. It suits a family or three couples who want a garden, parking and a short walk to the sea.
