5 At The Beach

On the second floor of a renovated period building, this one-bedroom apartment looks across the esplanade to the beach in Weymouth. Four flights of stairs lead up from the communal hallway, so luggage has a climb. The beach, a pub and a shop are each less than 0.5 miles away.

Floor-to-ceiling sash windows in the open-plan living space face the beach and the sea. The corner kitchen has an electric oven, an induction hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer. The sofas gather round a TV and DVD player, and the larger one converts into a double sofa bed.

The bedroom has a king-size zip-and-link bed, which becomes a twin if requested at the time of booking, and a TV. The bathroom has a corner bath and a separate shower. A travel cot and highchair can be provided, although cot linen is for guests to bring, as are beach towels.

There is no garden. The booking includes a parking permit for nearby roads rather than a space at the building. Ground-floor storage is available for bikes and beach equipment. Although the building is double glazed, the town location means some street noise. No dogs are taken. The flat suits two adults, or two adults and two children using the sofa bed, who want a sea view and are happy to climb four flights of stairs.
