Ammonite Cottage

Ammonite Cottage is built for two. The super-king-size bedroom, which sleeps two guests, is on the first floor under a Velux window, with a TV, a dressing table and a modern en-suite bathroom that has a shower over the bath and a WC. If you ask when booking, the zip-and-link bed can be set up as twins. A separate WC is on the ground floor.

Downstairs is open plan. The kitchen has an integrated oven and gas hob, a microwave, a fridge/freezer, a dishwasher and a washer/dryer, and a small table stands nearby. A sofa faces the Freeview TV and DVD player, and a rear patio with a table and chairs catches the sun. The cottage is in a gated complex of 16 properties in Charmouth, and the beach, shops and pubs are within walking distance.

Guests can use the covered, heated outdoor pool at the neighbouring holiday park, which is open on set dates through the season. The park has a coffee shop too, and adults over 18 can use its health club, with a gymnasium, indoor pool, sauna and steam room, at an extra charge.

Children under 2, including babes in arms, cannot stay, and dogs are not allowed. Parking is on site, arrivals are between 4pm and 8pm, short breaks are only available in off-peak weeks and a refundable security deposit is payable nearer the holiday. Electric cars cannot be charged at the property, and Wi-Fi is an extra-charge service through the park's club. The cottage suits a couple who want a cottage with a pool close by.
